Life In the small antique town of Aurora, OR

Life is pretty quiet here. A small quiet little town of Aurora. You can spend a whole day walking thru all of the quaint little shops in town and still not see everything. We have tried a few times, but usually tire before we finish. We don't have whole days off together; conflicting work schedules...

We spend a large part of our time in our large garden in our back yard.... we have flowers that bloom all year it seems; thanks to Keith's Mom Eleanore. Keith's folks lived here for about 7 years and they planted all of the flowers and made the yard a regular garden of Eden. We have changed things abit. Keith has built raised bed planters and planted a regular berry farm. He planted different types of lettuce all around the edges of the lawn. I thought it would look funny, but it turned out really pretty! And the best part was we could eat it!!! We have strawberries, blue berries, raspberries, goose berries, current berries and some Logan berries. We also have zucchini, tomatoes (coming out our ears!!) rhubarb, peppers, lettuce, peas, watermelon and cantaloupe!!! We haven't tried the melons yet. Hopefully we didn't leave them on the vine too long!

Keith also built a playhouse for the girls. We ended up with it and Keith put it in our backyard. It is so cute. I was just telling him that I am glad that we got to keep it here on our property. I always wanted one as a child and didn't get it. The girls have pretty much outgrown it, but if and when Bryan and Abbie have children, they can enjoy it when they come to visit. Makena still thinks it's pretty cool.

Well I have never set one of these up before.... Hopefully I will be able to publish the pictures of the yard and playhouse that I just took. We will see!

  1. You did really really well. I love the playhouse. MaryAnn was the one with the playhouse, brat! LOL! And I love the lifted planters. It makes the berry growing area a little more sophisticated. And quit bragging about the fresh berries already!!!!! LOL Love ya

  3. You know, I bet Dad would be willing to bring the playhouse over to my house so your great neices could use it. I mean we wouldn't want it to go to waste. It's not good for a home to be empty and not used you know.
